One Million Pool Drain Covers Recalled Because of Drowning Risk

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently issued the largest ever pool drain cover recall due to a drowning risk.
The recall extends to dozens of different models made by eight different manufacturers, including: A&A, Aquastar, Color Match, Custom Molded Products, Hayward Pool Products, Pentair Water Pool & Spa, Rising Dragon, and Waterway. The recalled models were marked with an improper water flow rating and may pose a hazard to swimmers – especially children.
Pool owners and consumers have been advised to stop using the drain covers immediately and contact the manufacturer to see what action, if any, is needed to make their pools or hot tubs safe and avoid a swimming pool accident.
