Hawaii Motorcycle Helmet Law

Hawaii does not require motorcycle drivers and passengers who are 18 and older to wear helmets. Regardless of age, however, all drivers riders must wear safety glasses, goggles, or a face shield, if the motorcycle is not equipped with a windscreen or a windshield.

The Director of Highway Safety is permitted to adopt rules concerning the required use of any other protective devices, except helmets. To be sure you’re in compliance with Hawaii law, check with the Director before taking to the open road.
