We have a proven reputation and the extensive resources and expertise to take on any size case, no matter how large or small.
But don’t just take our word for it, read about how we’ve been able to help some of our clients:
Helping a Client Get Back On Her Feet
On a late winter day our client never made it to her friend's apartment because she fell on a sidewalk completely covered with compacted snow and ice. She suffered a severely fractured ankle requiring surgery, more than four months with a cast and crutches and another two months in a walking cast.
At the time she didn’t have health insurance and the medical bills were piling up. Since she was unable to care for her 14-month-old son, her husband had to leave his job to care for the child. “I couldn’t even pick up my son, let alone take care of him,” said the Scott Township, PA resident.
That’s when she called Edgar Snyder & Associates. “I’m not one of those people who is ‘sue’ crazy. I didn’t want to bankrupt anyone,” she explained. “But the accident wasn’t my fault, and I just needed enough money to pay off my medical bills.”
The landlord in this situation claimed that the leases required the tenant in his building to be responsible for snow removal. But that isn’t legal when it comes it multi-tenant buildings. Attorney Cynthia Danel filed a lawsuit on behalf of the injured woman and the landlord’s insurance company chose to settle before the case went to trial.
2-Year-Old Suffers Life Threatening Injury
Our client was a passenger in a car with his brothers and father when a truck collided head-on with their vehicle. His father sustained a concussion and one of his brothers had a fractured cheekbone. Our client had hit his mouth on the stick shift and was bleeding, but seemed in fairly good condition considering the impact of the accident.
Little did anybody know that the little boy suffered much more serious injuries. During a two week stay in the hospital he wasn’t moving around as expected. The 2-year-old couldn’t explain what was wrong.
Exploratory surgery and x-rays showed that the he had a lower back injury requiring him to be in a body cast for six weeks. Afterward came painful therapy sessions to teach him how to walk again.
“The last thing we wanted to deal with was the medical bills,” said his mother. “There was so much involved, so it was such a relief to collect all of the paperwork and hand it over to our attorney.” With our firm handling the bills, the family was able to focus on the healing process, instead of dealing with the insurance company and health benefits.
Today our client has regained his strength and does everything other kids his age can do.
Accident Victim Offered $800 to Sign Some Papers
The pain and scars linger as constant reminders of the day our client had his accident. As the director of safety and personnel for a trucking company, one of his company’s tractor trailers had broken down and he was helping the mechanic replace a tire.
But our client was in the wrong place at the wrong time because a driver had fallen asleep at the wheel and hit him, throwing him 26 feet down the highway. He suffered back, neck and wrist injuries, and broken ribs.
Three days later the driver’s insurance company offered him $800 if he would sign some papers. Instead he decided to seek legal advice from our firm. Seven years and over $100,000 worth of medical bills later, he feels fortunate that he came to Edgar Snyder & Associates.
“The insurance hassles became overwhelming,” he recalls. “I put everything in the lawyer’s hands. They took away my worries so I could get better.”
